Wing Davis Wilks Residence Hall

LOCATION: Burlington, Vermont
CLIENT: University of Vermont
BUDGET: $12.9 million
STATUS: Complete

This project consists of interior renovations and redesign of the Wing Davis Wilks Residence Complex, totaling approximately 127,000 SF. The facility includes three four-story residence halls connected by a central common area.

The residence halls were renovated and reorganized to allow for natural light and ventilation in the corridors with new kitchen/lounge spaces on each floor. Each wing has laundry facilities and indoor bicycle storage. Renovations made all spaces ADA compliant.

The common area was expanded by enclosing an outdoor courtyard. The commons include a recreation room with a folding glass door system that allows the space to expand into the adjacent courtyard, a multi-purpose room, academic classroom, kitchen, vending, music practice rooms, mail services, offices, help desk and support spaces.
