The Army Mountain Warfare School is a new building located at the Ethan Allen Firing Range in Jericho, VT. The 82,000 SF state of the art facility will provide a center for training and educating soldiers from all over the world in mountain warfare. The building includes billets, a cafeteria, offices, classrooms and a full 70 ft climbing wall and drill hall.
Nestled into the mountainside, the building is organized as a long linear bar broken by a projecting drill hall and a central atrium space. The building is sited to maximize views to the surrounding mountains and take advantage of an adjacent ski slope used for training. Geothermal wells provide all the heating and cooling for the school.
